A photo was posted to the official social media accounts of WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan today, showing him flexing amid conflicting and increasingly alarming reports regarding his health (scroll down to see the photo). The post comes after his former friend, radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge, made claims that the wrestling legend recently had a heart procedure and was on a ventilator.
The photo, which appears to have been taken during Hogan’s media tour last month, was shared with the caption, “Pumped and ready for the grand opening of @hulkhogansslamsportsbar! Stay tuned for the big date!” The post is notable as Hogan has been uncharacteristically absent from posting his usual videos for several weeks, an absence that helped fuel the speculation.
The concerns began when Bubba the Love Sponge made a series of serious claims on his radio show. He stated that Hogan was “in a massive decline,” had recently undergone a heart procedure, and at one point was on a ventilator. Bubba also cited ongoing issues with Hogan’s back and blood pressure, adding that he was seriously worried for the wrestling legend’s life.
In response to the claims, Hogan’s rep issued a statement to TMZ, vehemently denying the severity of the situation. The rep stated that Hogan was not on his deathbed was back to moving around already. They also stated that Hogan was just dealing with some routine health check-ups but asserted that the claims made by Bubba were an exaggeration. Again, for what it’s worth, Bubba has continued to double down on his claims.
The new social media post from Hogan appears to be an indirect answer to the recent speculation, presenting an image of strength. Prior to hospitalization, Hogan was busy promoting the launch of his new Real American Freestyle wrestling league and his new Hogan’s Slam Sports Bar, which is located across from Madison Square Garden in New York City and is expected to have its grand opening soon. No word yet on when Hogan will resume making appearances.
