WWE Diva Layla El has announced her retirement. She did an interview with WWE to talk about her career, retirement, and what the future holds for her.
On a hot summer evening in New York City on August 16, 2006, the WWE Universe chose and then promptly welcomed Layla El as its newest Diva. In the heart of Times Square, the winner of the 2006 WWE Diva Search celebrated what would be the first of countless successes over the course of her nine-year career in sports-entertainment. Today, after almost a decade of dazzling WWE fans in every pocket of the globe, the former Divas and Women’s Champion announces her retirement from WWE.
Layla noted that she feels like it’s time to start the next chapter in her life and she just got tired of the grueling travel. She is hoping to do stuff in television in the United States or the United Kingdom. She noted that she will be going back to choreographing. For those who don’t know, she was a Miami Heat dancer before her WWE career.
She recently announced her engagement to former WWE star Ricky Ortiz (real name Richard Young).
