AJ Lee Says She Has Been ‘Unhealthily Invested’ In WWE Feud

AJ Lee has been paying close attention to the feud between The Kabuki Warriors and IYO SKY.

Lee took to social media this week to express her investment in the ongoing rivalry, writing: “been fangirling for @WWEAsuka @KAIRI_official @Iyo_SkyWWE for months and I am unhealthily invested in this now.”

The rift between The Kabuki Warriors and SKY dates back to the second half of 2025, when Asuka snapped on a September edition of Raw after SKY assisted Rhea Ripley rather than supporting her original target. Asuka and Kairi Sane attacked SKY, and the two sides have clashed repeatedly in the months since. Asuka has consistently reminded SKY of the sacrifices made in their friendship throughout the feud.

Despite the long-running build, the rivalry has hit a complication heading into WrestleMania 42. The announcement of Asuka vs. SKY has been delayed due to its direct link to the Women’s Tag Team Championship match. Nia Jax and Lash Legend are set to defend the titles against Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, and The Bella Twins.

If Nikki Bella, who suffered a foot injury on SmackDown last month, is not cleared to compete, WWE intends to insert The Kabuki Warriors as her replacement. That would remove Asuka from the singles match with SKY entirely.

Meanwhile, Lee competes in her first WrestleMania match in a decade on night one on April 18, defending the Intercontinental Championship in a rematch against Becky Lynch.
