AJ Lee made her shocking return to the ring earlier this year, but fans should not expect to see her on television every week. Following her performance at Survivor Series, details regarding her contract status and future schedule have surfaced.
Lee wrestled her return match at Wrestlepalooza on September 20, 2025, teaming with her husband, CM Punk, in a mixed tag team bout against Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins. She forced Lynch to submit, securing the victory for her team. Lee then competed in the women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series on November 29, 2025. She was on the babyface team opposing a heel squad that included Becky Lynch. She again forced Lynch to submit, helping her side win the match.
According to WrestleVotes, Lee’s next match will take place in 2026. During a live Q&A, it was revealed that she will be a part of the women’s Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on January 31.
“AJ Lee is in the Rumble. She’s part of the roster now, and they need 30 Superstars. So yeah, she’s in the Rumble,” WrestleVotes reported.
Despite rumors that the former Divas Champion had signed a full-time contract after being shown in a backstage video with Triple H, that is not the case. Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful’s post-RAW show recently confirmed that AJ Lee is not signed to WWE full time. Her current deal allows her to make appearances now and then, but she is not obligated to wrestle or make appearances every week.
