Maxxine Dupri is the New Women’s Intercontinental Champion
Maxxine Dupri has captured the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, defeating Becky Lynch in a shocking upset. The match’s conclusion was overshadowed by the sudden appearance of AJ Lee, whose distraction directly led to Lynch losing her title.
A Resilient Challenger
Throughout the match, Maxxine Dupri proved to be a formidable challenger for the dominant champion. Dupri showed incredible resilience, managing to escape Becky Lynch’s signature armbar submission on two separate occasions.
Dupri’s counters kept her in the fight. At one point, she successfully blocked Lynch’s attempt at the Manhandle Slam and reversed it into a roll-up for a near fall, almost capturing the championship right there. She also locked in an ankle lock, but the champion was able to escape.
The Champion’s Comeback
Becky Lynch finally gained the upper hand and hit her finisher, the Manhandle Slam. It appeared the match was over, but Maxxine’s ring awareness saved her when her foot was spotted under the ropes, forcing the referee to break the pinfall.
AJ Lee Appears
It was at this moment that chaos erupted. AJ Lee’s music hit, and she appeared, walking out and immediately drawing the full attention of the champion. Becky Lynch, stunned by the appearance, took her eyes off her opponent.
A New Champion Crowned
The distraction by AJ Lee was all the opening Maxxine Dupri needed. As Lynch turned back to the ring, Dupri had already ascended to the top rope. Maxxine launched herself off, connecting with a flying body press on the distracted champion. Dupri covered Lynch and secured the three-count, winning the match and becoming the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
