Lio Rush opens up on his future with WWE

Lio Rush recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated to promote his hip hop single “Scenic Lullaby” that was released last week and talked about a wide range of topics.

After reports of having backstage heat due to various incidents, he has taken a step back from the company. His last match was a loss alongside with Lashley to Braun Strowman and Finn Balor in March on Raw.

During the interview, Rush was asked about his status with WWE as he is currently on a sabbatical from the company.

This is where he noted that he’s optimistic about his pro wrestling future as he’s still young and has time left in the business.

“Right now, I’m spending time with my family and working on other projects,” said Rush. “But being a pro wrestler has been my dream since I was five years old, and my heart is still in it. I’m only 24 years old. I’m still going to pursue a career in professional wrestling. I have a lot of time in front of me.

“I’m still going to wrestle. This is not the end for me. I’m working on my music, I miss wrestling to death, but maybe this [break from WWE] happened to give me time to accomplish some of my goals in music.”
