Liv Morgan on Vince McMahon’s exit from WWE: “We were all shocked and it felt sudden”

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan is one of the first WWE stars to publicly discuss Vince McMahon resigning from WWE.

While speaking with The Mirror, Morgan spoke about Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque taking on the role of creative lead for WWE. Morgan stated, “We’re excited. We’re in great hands.”

This comes after McMahon resigned from his role as Chairman and CEO amidst the hush money/sexual misconduct allegations against him.

Morgan noted that McMahon’s exit was a shock to talent and felt sudden. However, she’s excited to work with new co-CEOs Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan.

“We were all shocked. And it felt sudden. But we all owe so much to Vince. So if he felt like it was time, then it was time. We’re also excited to be working with Stephanie and Nick [Khan]. Stephanie was born into this business, so there’s literally no one better for the job than her. We’re all so excited, and we’re just ready to go to work. We’re all just ready to take it to the next level.”

Morgan will defend the SmackDown Women’s Title against Ronda Rousey at Saturday’s SummerSlam event.
