A new report has shed light on the official internal roster status of the current WWE United States Champion, Logan Paul. According to WrestleVotes Radio, the social media megastar is listed internally within WWE as a free agent. This gives the WWE creative team the liberty to use him in storylines on either the Raw or SmackDown brands as required, a flexibility not given to the majority of the roster, who are assigned to a specific brand during the WWE Draft.
Logan Paul has been a significant attraction for WWE since he first began appearing for the company. After an initial run that saw him get involved in the feud between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, he made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 38, where he teamed with The Miz to defeat Rey and Dominik Mysterio. Since then, he has competed in a series of matches against top stars, including Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes.
His free agent status is a logical move for the company, given his part-time schedule. It allows him to appear on both Raw and SmackDown to promote his matches and shoot angles for feuds with stars from both brands.
Paul most recently wrestled John Cena in a match at the Clash in Paris, with Cena ultimately winning by pinfall after executing an Attitude Adjustment. Paul has also faced Jey Uso, LA Knight, Randy Orton, and Drew McIntyre in WWE, and previously held the WWE United States Championship. It’s unclear when his next match will be.
On today’s episode of WrestleVotes Radio, we dive into the futures of Brock Lesnar & Logan Paul, internal reaction to ESPN’s PLE debut, John Cena’s incoming final match announcement, and much more!
