Original: YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul suffered a hit in Canada after their energy drink company, Prime, recalled its product in Canada.
US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer recently called for regulars to investigate the company because he alleges the drink is being targeted at children despite its high caffeine content, which is 200mg. This is twice the amount in the rival energy drink Red Bull. Other drinks such as Rockstar have 300mg, Monster with 160mg, and Nos at 160mg.
Each drink has a warning label noting that it’s not recommended for children under 18. The warning label also states people sensitive to caffeine, pregnant women, or breastfeeding women shouldn’t drink it.
However, Schumer has alleged the company has been packaging and marketing the product “in near identical form” as a caffeine-free drink. Thus, some parents may not know the drink has caffeine in it.
PRIME Energy Drink has so much caffeine that it could endanger kids’ health.
But it's being marketed to kids!
Parents and pediatricians are worried.
The FDA must investigate PRIME for its absurd caffeine content and its marketing targeting kids on social media. https://t.co/8f8Udp3dZu

A Prime representative told the BBC that Prime Energy “contains a comparable amount of caffeine to other top selling energy drinks, all falling within the legal limit of the countries it’s sold in. It complied with all FDA guidelines before hitting the market. As a brand, our top priority is consumer safety, so we welcome discussions with the FDA or any other organization regarding suggested industry changes they feel are necessary in order to protect consumers.”
