WWE has officially not commented on this story but, over the last few days, there have been reports saying that Jim Johnston was let go by WWE. Johnston has been the long-time music composer since the 1980’s. The reason for his exit is simply because WWE opted not to renew his contract for 2018. There have been rumors that there were issues between Johnston and Neil Lawi, Senior Vice President of WWE Music.
The news actually broke last week on social media accounts that are dedicated to following Johnston’s music and related news.

Themers United, another account that is dedicated to news on Johnston and his music, is reporting that Johnston’s removal was something that Lawi, John Alicastro, and Michael Lauri wanted for some time. Johnston was being phased out in recent years after CF0$ were brought in to compose themes starting in 2012.
There has been a push to redo Johnston’s theme music, which is why Kane’s theme was remade. The Uncaged album series, with previously unreleased themes, will not continue since that was something that was pushed by Johnston.
