AAA wrestler Cuatrero, real name Rogelio Reyes, has been found guilty of family violence and attempted feminicide against his ex-girlfriend, former WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer.
Mexican crime journalist Antonio Nieto reported the conviction on X on Tuesday, citing the verdict handed down by a Mexico City judge after a process that ran more than three years. Sentencing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, 2026, when the court will hold the audiencia de individualización de la pena to determine the prison term.
Reyes is the son of Mexican wrestling legend Carmelo Reyes (Cien Caras) and a member of the Nueva Generación Dinamita trio with his brother Sansón and cousin Forastero. He was detained on March 11, 2023, in Aguascalientes, immediately after a lucha libre function. Agents from the PolicÃa de Investigación de la FiscalÃa General de Justicia de la Ciudad de México executed an arrest warrant at the lienzo charro where he had just wrestled and transferred him to the Reclusorio Preventivo Varonil Oriente in Mexico City.
The charges stemmed from a March 2, 2023 incident at Vaquer’s apartment in the Cuauhtémoc borough of Mexico City. Vaquer, who was Reyes’ partner at the time and was wrestling for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, told prosecutors he had attempted to strangle her. She filed her complaint days later and shared photos showing marks on her neck. The FiscalÃa Especializada para la Investigación de Delitos de Feminicidio reclassified the initial domestic-violence charge to attempted feminicide and pursued the case from there.
Reyes spent nearly two years in preventive detention before being granted release via amparo on March 7, 2025. He returned to the ring in February 2026 for AAA, his first match since the arrest. AAA was acquired by WWE in August 2025.
Vaquer left CMLL in July 2024 and signed with WWE the same month. She became the first Chilean and South American woman to win a world title in WWE, holding the Women’s World Championship for 210 days before dropping it to Liv Morgan at WrestleMania 42 Night 1 on April 18, 2026.
On International Women’s Day this March, Vaquer addressed Reyes’ release publicly on her Instagram stories in both Spanish and English: “Él sigue libre, pero yo sigo viva y seguiré peleando por la verdad y la justicia hasta el final” (“He is still free, but I am still alive and I will keep fighting for truth and justice until the end”).
