WWE Raw superstar Lyra Valkyria, who recently became the first-ever WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, has stated that fellow Dublin native Conor McGregor is not cut out for a WWE career. Speaking to the Irish Mirror, Valkyria, feeling “amazing” and “on top of the world” with her new title, was emphatic about McGregor’s prospects: “He doesn’t have what it takes.”
Valkyria, known at home as Aoife Cusack, also lauded the strong Irish presence in WWE. “The amount of Irish on RAW alone is incredible. It’s such a talented bunch to have come from our country, so I’m really proud to be a part of that,” she said.
Reflecting on her rapid ascent since her Raw debut in May 2024, which included a WrestleMania appearance and teaming with Becky Lynch, she found the journey surreal.
She recalled watching Lynch at WrestleMania 40 from an NXT box: “So to go from sitting in the NXT box watching WrestleMania last year, to tag teaming with Becky one year later is insane.”
