Magnus (Nick Aldis) recently spoke with Wade Killer on a recent PWTorch Livecast about his wife, Mickie James, challenging Asuka for the NXT Women’s Title at this Saturday’s NXT Takeover: Tonto special at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada. Magnus said that James is excited about returning and is incredibly proud of her WWE career, as she should be. He added that James always held on to hope that she would have a chance to return to WWE because she wanted to finish her career in WWE. He made it clear that she is not ending her career after this match. “I know that she and Asuka are going to tear the house down,” Aldis said. He thinks that Asuka is fantastic and that James can work a good match with anyone.
When asked about James possibly working on the main roster after the takeover special, “I feel like once they see what she does and, more importantly, see the fan reaction, which I think is going to be huge, I’d be very surprised if it doesn’t lead to more, Magnus said. He added that he is not the right guy to ask because he doesn’t have a very good handle on what WWE is thinking and what they want.
