As we reported earlier on the site, WWE has plans for UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey to work a singles match with Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 32.
The original plans were for The Rock and Rousey to team up against Triple H and McMahon at WrestleMania 32. But as they say, plans change. Also, the third idea that was brought up was The Rock and Triple H competing in a singles match with McMahon and Rousey in their corner.
The latest news is coming from this week’s Wrestling Observer, Rousey has agreed to the deal to do this year’s Mania several months ago, but the only thing under contract was for a one-shot deal.
Dana White has to sign off Rousey appearing for WWE just like he made the decision to not let Brock Lesnar return to the WWE in 2011 to face The Undertaker. There are arguments for it, in the sense it’ll expand her fan base and exposure, but there is a real question as to whether a reigning UFC champion should be advertised for a key event at WWE’s biggest show of the year.
If White signs off on it, WWE has to work around Rousey’s fighting schedule and being able to make Monday night RAW TV tapings to promote the possible match with Stephanie McMahon.
