Now, with that out of the way, PWInsider is reporting that the plan is for Shinsuke Nakamura to challenge Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Given that the stipulation for tonight’s match is for the winner to challenge Mahal, that likely means that John Cena will lose tonight.
Cena is being booked for more Raw shows this month so it would appear that his time on the Smackdown roster is winding down. He is still considered a “free agent” so they could still use him on that show whenever he is available.
