As noted earlier, there is a lot of buzz about a former WWE Champion appearing tonight on Monday Night Raw. Andrade could still appear on the show tonight but the person who Triple H teased over the weekend is not him.
Backstage, the person’s name is being kept quiet and the talent do not know who will be appearing but Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and business partner Dany Garcia appeared on ESPN GameDay earlier today as part of their media tour to promote the launch of the new UFL league (USFL and XFL merged). The Rock’s appearance was in Pasadena, California, which just happens to be a 2-hour drive away from San Diego, the site of tonight’s Monday Night Raw.
You may recall that prior to The Rock appearing on SmackDown a couple of months ago, he appeared on ESPN just a few hours earlier on The Pat McAfee Show. Another thing to note about today’s appearance on GameDay is that ESPN posted a video of The Rock on their social media channels and the person in the background is WWE’s Nick Khan.
People in WWE are not confirming that The Rock will be appearing tonight but Fightful Select reported today that he is the person who is expected to appear tonight. What he will be doing is anyone’s guess but WrestleMania season is kicking off and WWE has the Royal Rumble in Tampa coming up and they are heading to Perth, Australia next month for the Elimination Chamber show. If The Rock is committed to wrestling at WrestleMania, tonight could be the start of the build for his match.
