As noted earlier on the site, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan has been pulled from the rest of the current WWE European tour.
WWE sent Bryan home as soon as the SmackDown TV tapings ended because he was so banged up. The sources do not know the extent of it, but he was being protected on the current European tour due to injuries and he’s scheduled to get the injuries checked up on when he gets back home.
As of this writing, Bryan’s status for Extreme Rules is not known. He is supposed to defend his Intercontinental Title against Bad News Barrett. At both RAW and SmackDown TV dark matches, he was in tag team matches where he would get a hot tag and take one bump.
Backstage, WWE is worried because he was wrestling the same style as before, and he was coming off a near career ending neck injury, with the feeling that given his injury that his body was not going to be able to hold up for a long period of time without adjusting his ring style. At the end of the day, he needs longevity because he’s just starting to make the real big money.
