Man Facing Federal Charges in Stalking Case Involving WWE’s Liv Morgan

A Canadian professional wrestling fan is facing federal stalking charges after an alarming incident where he allegedly attempted to break into the Florida home of WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan. According to a recently unsealed FBI affidavit reviewed by The Independent, the man was captured on surveillance video trying to enter the home, brandishing an air rifle he found on the porch, and leaving a handwritten note.

The documents identify the accused as 41-year-old Shawn Chan of Scarborough, Ontario. Chan reportedly obtained a passport on May 26 of this year and flew to Orlando that same day, telling customs officials he planned to stay at the WWE Performance Center, which has no lodging. Four days later, on May 31, surveillance footage captured Chan arriving at Morgan’s home.

According to the affidavit, he circled the property, tried the front door handle multiple times, and appeared to search for a spare key. After failing to gain entry, Chan allegedly found an air rifle that had been left on the front porch. “The air rifle is a Sig Sauer MCX .177 air rifle capable of firing metal pellets at 600 feet per second,” the affidavit states. “Chan can be seen sitting on the front porch with the pellet gun before standing and walking to the front door.”

After more than two hours, Chan left a handwritten note near the front door. The note mentioned being wronged by an online gaming community and stated, “I came here to pay just a friendly visit, nothing more… Yea, I just wanted to let you know that I was here.” The note included his home address and phone number.

On June 3, Chan appeared at the WWE Performance Center where Morgan was present for a taping. Security personnel, who had been shown the surveillance video from her home, recognized Chan and notified deputies, who took him into custody. During a search, officers found two bottles of liquid on his person, which Chan described as “medicines, one of which was to treat injuries such as bleeding.”

Morgan later told police she did not know Chan and expressed concern that her home address had become public, noting two other uninvited individuals had previously shown up at her residence.

Chan was indicted on Wednesday and is currently detained at the Pasco County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in Orlando federal court on July 18 for his arraignment on one count of interstate domestic violence, a charge that carries a potential sentence of up to five years in prison if convicted.
