As noted on Wednesday night, Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that Mike and Maria Kanellis asked for their release a few weeks ago. We asked a WWE source about the story and it was confirmed to us that they did ask to be released but it was not granted.
Maria Kanellis didn’t deny the report but she reacted by saying, “Everyone thinks they know everything. Hahahahaha…. it’s social media not an autobiography.”

She also cleared up misconceptions about her husband Mike’s substance abuse recovery. She wrote, “Social Media Fact Check: Mike NEVER went to rehap ANYWHERE. He was on the road with me rehabbing. We were on house shows. He never took time off to rehab. He worked through it.”

She also made it clear that WWE has been supportive of her being a mom and a Superstar. This seems to be a reaction to some of the people on social media criticizing her for asking to be released after taking time off due to her pregnancy. Kanellis said, “Social Media Fact Check: WWE has been SUPER supportive of me being a mother and a superstar!”
