WWE Hall of Famer and co-host of SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio Mark Henry recently discussed The Last Ride documentary series on WWE Network. The new documentary series of course follows The Undertaker and gives an unprecedented look at the ‘Deadman’ for the first time ever.
Henry would compare the ongoing series to Netflix’s The Last Dance, a new documentary series in its own right that features the life and career of NBA legend Michael Jordan.
“So, the fans have never got to see behind the scenes like that” Henry began discussing Undertaker’s The Last Ride. “You get to see people warming up, getting ready. You get to see the walk through the arena , getting to the gorilla position and out of the gorilla position to the stage where everybody can see you.”
Henry elaborated further, saying “The Last Ride and Michael Jordan’s documentary are parallel, in the sense that you got to see behind the stage and in a way you’ve never seen. And it was uncomfortable for ‘Taker to show that. This whole documentary was not meant to come out. You know he [Undertaker] was thinking? ‘This is the end. I want to document it, footage of that time for my family and for me to relive it and look at it again one day when I’m old and grey.’ Which is now (laughs).”
The World’s Strongest Man would then discuss the main differences between the two documentaries. “But the difference? Michael Jordan’s documentary, it was informational. People found out a lot about Michael Jordan and a lot of people hated what they found out. They were disgusted at the language, and that the arrogance, and it is not like that with The Undertaker. Completely opposite.”
