Mark Henry On Jade Cargill: “You Might Want To Reconsider” If You Think She Can’t Wrestle

On a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry offered high praise for the Women’s World Championship triple threat match from this past Friday’s SmackDown, calling the main event “absolutely, positively awesome”. Henry lauded the performances of all three competitors—champion Tiffany Stratton, Nia Jax, and Jade Cargill—stating the match served as proof of the women’s division’s capabilities.

Henry opened his review by addressing any critics of women’s wrestling. “Anybody that’s a sexist, anybody that said that the women’s can’t pull the time, anybody that says that the women cannot measure up and have the best show of the night, I give you exhibit A, Your Honor,” he stated. “These women went all out”.

He gave specific praise to Nia Jax for her physical condition, noting her dedication. “Nia, looks great. You can tell she’s probably dropped about 30 pounds,” Henry observed. “And usually when I see somebody that is of her stature, male, female, indifferent, when they make a conscious effort to change their body… they usually end up with the championship. I’m just saying”.

Henry also directed comments toward critics of Jade Cargill’s in-ring ability. “The people that say you can’t wrestle, hey, you might want to reconsider,” he said. “Not only did she never stop moving, she was involved in everything, and she executed things at a high level… You can see the focus that she had”.

He reserved a unique comparison for the champion, Tiffany Stratton, likening her to two of the most accomplished women in WWE history. “It’s like she’s a hybrid of a Charlotte Flair and a Trish Stratus,” Henry explained. He clarified by calling Charlotte Flair “the best athlete, female wrestler of all time” and Trish Stratus “the best entertainer, she’s the Ric Flair of women’s wrestling”. Henry sees Stratton as a “mix of those two wrestlers” who is on her way to becoming her own unique star.

Henry also highlighted Jade Cargill’s toughness after she was legitimately busted open late in the match. “You saw Jay Cargill at the end of that match… get busted open,” he said, estimating the cut would require “probably about 17 stitches”. “Jade kept going. Did she quit? Did she stop? No… she kept going and tried to keep going”.
