Mark Henry: LA Knight “Has Proved That He Belongs”

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has some high praise for LA Knight, admitting that he was not initially sold on the superstar but has since been won over by his performances and connection with the audience. In a recent interview with TMZ Inside The Ring, “The World’s Strongest Man” discussed Knight’s trajectory in WWE and addressed the criticisms from some fans who believe that, at 42 years old, he is too old to be pushed as a main event world champion.

Henry not only dismissed the age concerns but also stated that Knight has “proved that he belongs” at the top of the card. “LA Knight is an outstanding talent. There was a time when I didn’t believe. I thought that he leaned on what other people did and are doing too much, and not creating his own thing. He has proved that he belongs and deserves the opportunity to be the guy,” Henry said.

While he is now a believer, Henry did offer some constructive criticism, suggesting that Knight should focus more on his strengths. “There’s things that he does that I would say, ‘Hey man, segue out of that and do more of what you’re really good at,’ which is walk and talk. He’s a good wrestler, at the end of the day. There’s so much that he can do that he doesn’t do, and you need to lean into that.”

Henry then directly addressed the issue of Knight’s age, drawing on his own decades of experience in the wrestling business to explain why it is not a prohibitive factor. “As far as him being too old, there was a time where in wrestling, you didn’t even get your shot until you were 40. You didn’t get a shot. Guys wrestled into their 60s,” he stated.
