Mark Henry believes he knows the reason that former WWE Champion CM Punk will make a return to pro wrestling.
Punk decided to walk out of WWE following the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in 2014. He hasn’t worked a match since then. Part of the bad blood with WWE is due to the lawsuit that pitted Punk and Colt Cabana against WWE doctor Chris Amann. The case had been heard by a jury late last year in Illinois, just outside of Chicago. In the end, the jury ruled that they are in favor of Punk and Cabana on all counts filed by Amann. As a result, neither Punk or Cabana had to pay anything.
Henry talked about his belief during the latest episode of Busted Open Radio. As for the reason, he thinks Punk will return is due to his love of the business and how the landscape has changed.
“The biggest part of that reason is because I know how much he loves wrestling. The issue with wrestling and Punk is that there are guys outside there in the wrestling world outside at that time.”
Henry would continue by stating, ”Sometimes on pro wrestling there are guys on the bench that shouldn’t be on the bench. Punk didn’t like that and wanted the best people out there. If they’re good then the fans will love them for being good.”
