Braun Strowman was released by WWE earlier this month and is under a 90-day non-compete clause until late August. Thus, he’s on the sidelines as an active in-ring performer until then.
Mark Henry was influential in bringing Strowman to WWE to start his pro wrestling career as they both have an interest in bodybuilding.
There’s been speculation as to whether Strowman could be headed to AEW. While speaking with TMZ Sports, Henry said there’s interest on both sides to have Strowman compete in AEW.
“Super high on my list. It’s not an all Mark Henry decision, but there’s already interest on both sides. So hopefully, by the time he’s allowed to wrestle in August, I think the middle of August, then we could have a serious conversation about contractual things of that nature. But right now there’s interest on both sides.”
While there have been no reports about AEW being interested in Strowman, the promotion is reportedly high on bringing in another released WWE star.
