As we noted on Sunday night, Drew Galloway has announced his departure from Impact Wrestling. It was a decision he made despite getting a generous offer from them. It will be interesting to see what happens at the TV tapings on Thursday because the belief is that Matt and Jeff Hardy are also leaving. Their deals expire within the next day or two and WWE definitely want them.
Matt and Jeff have told promoters that they cannot commit to dates after April, which would be a strong indication that they are leaning towards going to WWE. The recent changes with management at Impact Wrestling were another thing that increased their chances of leaving because the feeling is that they are going back to traditional booking, which means that the “Broken” Hardys stuff they’ve been doing over the last year would not be a part of the shows going forward. I wonder what type of creative freedom, if any, they will get in WWE and if they will be allowed to do the “Broken” Hardys gimmick there.
There is always a chance that a last minute deal can be worked out but if they are not at the Impact tapings on Thursday then that likely means that they are headed to WWE. We noted over the weekend that The Hardys announced over the weekend that they would be closing their online store because Reby Hardy is a full-time mom and pregnant with baby #2.
