Matt Cardona Reached Out To WWE “A Few Times,” But “No Offer” Made

Despite his highly successful run on the independent circuit and consistent fan interest in a potential WWE comeback, Matt Cardona admitted he is surprised the company hasn’t reached out with an offer. Speaking on “Insight With Chris Van Vliet,” the former Zack Ryder discussed his current relationship with his old employer.

When asked if he’s surprised WWE hasn’t called him back, Cardona replied, “Honestly? Yeah, but obviously I’m missing something, I don’t know what it is.” He recounted numerous interactions during WrestleMania/WrestleCon weekend with fans and even WWE personnel asking about a return. “Thousands of people, probably every other fan, if not every fan say, ‘When are you coming back?’ Well, it’s not up to me,” he shared, adding, “So many people from the office or other wrestling, ‘Hey, man, when are you coming back?’ It’s like, I don’t know.”

Cardona clarified that he has made efforts to re-engage with WWE. “I’ve reached out many times. I shouldn’t say many, a few times, every couple months when something cool happens or I have something to say, ‘Hey, look what I’m doing,'” he revealed.

However, these overtures have not yet led to a contract. “There’s been no offer. Everything’s very nice, professional, but there’s no offer,” Cardona stated. “It is what it is, I’m gonna keep working my a– off.”
