A planned movie from Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s production company about Hulk Hogan’s landmark legal battle against Gawker Media has reportedly been shelved. According to a new report, the project has been tabled for some time.
Damon And Affleck’s Hogan/Gawker Project Shelved
According to a report from TMZ, the project from Damon and Affleck’s company, Artists Equity, has not been worked on “in quite some time” and was “tabled a while ago.” The reason the film was scrapped is currently unknown. The movie was set to chronicle Hogan’s successful lawsuit against the media outlet after they published a private video of him.
Hogan Not Involved In The Film
The report also clarified that Hulk Hogan himself was not involved with the planned movie and was not interested in it. Sources indicated that the WWE Hall of Famer would have considered legal action if he felt the film went too far in its portrayal of the events.
While the Gawker movie is no longer in the works, it was recently reported by Matthew Belloni of Puck News that a separate project, an official docuseries about Hulk Hogan’s life, has been in production with Netflix since last year.
