Although Matt Hardy is currently on the sidelines as he recovers from nagging injuries, he has made two things perfectly clear. One, he’s not retired from the pro wrestling business. Secondly, he thinks in the meantime that he would be a perfect fit as the General Manager of the flagship show of the company, WWE Monday Night Raw.
The reason for his mindset is due to his Woken gimmick and how it would be a fresh start for him as well as the authority figure role on WWE television. Despite the fact that Hardy is currently not on WWE television he could be onto something as the WWE needs more star power on Raw right now with their top star Roman Reigns being on the sidelines and having their top champion, Brock Lesnar, being part-time.
This leads us to Hardy talking about why he continues to put for a role as WWE Raw General Manager during an interview with WrestlingInc.com.
“I think coming in [as GM], it would be a fresh start considering I would be a good guy in many ways. Woken Matt Hardy in being the character he is, and how over the top he is, I think he would be very entertaining in a General Manager role. I could put guys in unique situations or matches. My interactions with each and every talent would be so unique.
“I think the funnest thing between Broken Matt Hardy and Woken Matt Hardy was the interaction I had with other performers. I think if you have Woken Matt Hardy interacting with the women’s division and all the different athletes of the men’s division, I think there would be so much entertaining tv there.”
