Matt Hardy is co-signing the idea of R-Truth getting a run with a world championship in WWE. On his “Extreme Life” podcast, Hardy was asked about recent comments from JBL, who advocated for WWE to capitalize on Truth’s momentum.
Hardy stated that he is “not opposed to radical ideas” and that given how popular Truth is, it could work. Truth vs. Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena takes place on tonight’s SmackDown.
“I mean, I’m not opposed to radical ideas, you know, I’m the man who did Broken Matt Hardy… Truth really, really just saw such an outpouring, such a groundswell of WWE fan base support, right? And he is probably the most over he’s been in his career. Everything he touches is white hot right now, so I am not opposed to it. You know, it’s one of those things where they realistically might make it work, even if it was a short-term thing. But with that same thing being said, I know they have great plans, and they want to plan for the future as well, and that also is very important. But you never know, this thing could be snuck in there and it could happen. But when it’s all said and done, I think at the end of the day, how much the crowd is emotionally invested in a character is the most important barometer of the levels that someone reaches.”
