It looks like the recent tweets from Matt Hardy about retirement have nothing to do with a WWE storyline, as some have speculated. Hardy revealed on Twitter that he recently learned that his lower back and pelvis have started to fuse together, which sounds painful.
Hardy has talked about his match with Edge at Unforgiven 2005 where he was permanently damaged after executing a leg drop off the top of the cage. He has never been the same and it’s the reason why he has slowed down in recent years.
This maneuver was called EVENT OMEGA..
And is most likely the reason that I’ve recently learned that my lower back & pelvis have started fusing together. https://t.co/FzYebvIIc0

On Friday, Reby Hardy tweeted, “Todo tiene su final.” That means “Everything has it’s end.” Her tweet was retweeted by Matt.

Here is the spot from Unforgiven 2005.
If this is the end for Matt Hardy, then it’s been a Hall Of Fame worthy career. As of this writing, there is no word on when he plans to step away from the ring but he is wresting on this weekend’s live events and he is involved in Raw storylines so we might see him at SummerSlam.
Meanwhile, Jeff Hardy is scheduled to challenge Shinsuke Nakamura for the United States Championship at SummerSlam but he is also beat up. He is dealing with back and neck issues and he has some numbness in his fingers.
