Matt Hardy says WWE may have jumped the gun on Jeff Hardy, drug test expected to come back clean

On the House Hardy Twitch stream, Matt Hardy provided an update on Jeff Hardy.

Matt said he got to spend some time and speak with his brother Jeff over the weekend and Jeff wants to make a music video. Matt said that they agreed to schedule something in the next few weeks.

Matt said he spoke to Jeff as he was leaving AEW Dynamite last week and on his way to the airport when Jeff told him that WWE was releasing him. Matt added that he will be making Matt Facts video for the House Hardy Twitch stream and the first would include Jeff on it.

Jeff then announced some upcoming concert dates and then the video cut back to Matt.

Matt said that his brother is doing well and there is no reason for concern and he is not worried about anything right now. Matt also put over WWE for getting his brother into rehab in 2019 and Matt said that this time he doesn’t believe that Jeff needs rehab this time. Matt made it clear that “there is no reason to be worried or concerned” about Jeff and he feels good about the night in question but it’s Jeff’s story to tell.

It was interesting to note that Matt also said that Jeff took a drug test and he is confident that it will come back clean and he understands WWE’s stance on things but that they may have jumped the gun this time. “Before anyone rushes to judgment, obviously they [WWE] drug tested him after all this stuff, wait until you hear the results of that and when that comes back clean then hopefully people will feel better about it,” Matt said.

WrestlingNews.co reported over the weekend that a WWE source saw Jeff backstage and that person did not think he was under the influence.
