Tonight WWE will be hosting its special SmackDown 1000 episode. The show will feature appearances from several top names on today’s roster, as well as big names from WWE’s past. Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio will also be making his return to the company on the show, after reportedly signing a two-year deal with WWE recently, as he takes on United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in a non-title WWE World Cup qualifying match.
It looks like another big name could be making his return to WWE TV at the show. Recently retired former Raw Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy took to Twitter and teased possibly appearing on SmackDown 1000 as well. Matt said he has been treasuring the time he has spent with his family recently, however, he will be “back to work tomorrow” the day of SmackDown 1000. Hardy could simply be referring to helping produce the event, but we’ll keep you updated:
“I have TREASURED my time at home with my family, especially being here everyday for my boys.. But duty calls.. Back to work tomorrow.”
