Matt Hardy: “They’re Gonna Do Everything They Can To Make Seth Rollins The Guy”

At WWE’s Money in the Bank event on June 7, the landscape of both Raw and SmackDown shifted as two superstars retrieved the coveted briefcases. Naomi secured the women’s contract in a grueling ladder match, a decision Matt Hardy fully supports. However, it was the men’s match result that caught many by surprise.

In a match featuring rising stars and fan favorites, it was established main eventer Seth Rollins who climbed the ladder and became Mr. Money in the Bank for the second time in his career. While the briefcase is often used to create a new star, WWE opted to give the guaranteed title shot to one of its most decorated veterans.

On his Extreme Life podcast, Hardy shared his thoughts on the outcomes, expressing his happiness for Naomi and analyzing why WWE chose Rollins.

“And I said this when we discussed last week, I like Naomi winning. You know what I mean? I do like that. I think she’s someone who deserves it. She’s someone who can be the flag bearer of the division. So I’m totally cool with that, and I’m happy for her, on a personal level that she won. She’s someone who’s definitely deserving. So I’m totally good with that. And the Seth Rollins thing is fine. I like the fact that, you know, we thought it was a red herring. I thought it was too. I thought they would use this to elevate someone else. But they, they really have all of their momentum behind Seth Rollins right now, and they’re gonna do everything they can to make Seth Rollins the guy.”
