Chris Jericho conducted an interview with Matt Hardy on the latest episode of Talk is Jericho.
During the interview, Hardy talked about his WWE departure, which came down to not the money he was offered by the company but the way that he would be used on television.
Despite letting his contract expire, he did have talks with Triple H about a potential return to the company but to work under the NXT banner.
This is where Hardy noted that he thinks if “The Game” would be in charge of the main roster then there would have been more opportunities for him
“I’ll just go my own way, and even days after I left, I talked to Triple H. It’s just like he was cool, and I feel like if Triple H would have been the guy that was solely in power, I would have probably had a much better opportunity of kind of getting to do what I wanted creatively, but it is what it is.”
