Matt Riddle admits he wasn’t a fan of Tyson Fury’s WWE debut match, sees positive potential

Matt Riddle is known to be brutally honest with his opinions about pro wrestling and some of the biggest names in the business. That includes outside athletes trying to make it inside of the squared ring under the WWE banner.

While doing an interview with Metro, the NXT turned SmackDown star shared his take about boxing superstar Tyson Fury and his future with WWE.

Of course, Fury made his in-ring debut last year for a one-off match against Braun Strowman last year at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd International Stadium.

Fury went over in the contest by count-out. The boxing star has expressed interest in doing another match in WWE against current WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.

According to Riddle, he thinks Fury is one of the best boxers in the history of boxing and one of the best combat athletes I’ve ever seen. He also praised Fury for being a showman.

“I think if he wants to come back to WWE and be a superstar and do it, I think he will — and I think in the future he’ll have even better and bigger matches. His last performance in WWE was with Braun Strowman.

To be honest, I don’t think I was the biggest fan of the match, but at the same time I think there’s room for growth, as I’ve seen in his career in boxing.”

Riddle stated that Fury has been able to do it all so he doesn’t think anything is holding Fury back. He added that Fury has time to learn and if he really wants to wrestle at a high level he can get it because history has shown that before.
