Matt Riddle defeated AJ Styles in main roster debut on WWE Friday Night SmackDown
This week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown kicked off with AJ Styles’ Intercontinental Championship celebration. Styles celebrated in the ring while demanding for Daniel Bryan to praise him and put the title around his waist. Bryan told Styles to give title shots to guys like Big E and Drew Gulak but Styles declared that only a select few wrestlers would get a shot and the next person that walks out would deal with consequences.
This led to Matt Riddle walking out, as he is now officially part of the main roster. Riddle then declared that he is the “bro that is gonna run the show” and a brawl broke out. That led to a non-title match.
Riddle got a clean victory over Styles after countering the Phenomemal Forearm into the Bro Gerrick piledriver. SmackDown was taped last Monday before the allegations of rape came out against Riddle.
