Matt Riddle has begun training at the WWE PC, update on his first opponent

WWE usually likes to do a write-up on their website with mentions on their social media accounts whenever a top prospect is training at the Performance Center. However, for some reason, they didn’t make a big deal out of it this time with Matt Riddle.

Riddle has been training at the PC this week in preparation for his NXT TV debut. On the weekly TV show, WWE has teased that Kassius Ohno was looking to take out Riddle. The story that is being told is that Ohno is tired of being overlooked in favor of the new indie darlings so he is taking matters into his own hands.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that there has been talk of Riddle vs. Ohno at the NXT Takeover: War Games show that will take place on the night before Survivor Series in Los Angeles. “Riddle may start on television at the next tapings and there is at least talk of him facing Kassius Ohno at the Los Angeles Takeover show,” Meltzer wrote.

Riddle is scheduled to face Mark Haskins at PROGRESS’ Hello Wembley show on 9/30. Technically, it will be his last independent show and he is allowed to work for them because the promotion has an affiliation with WWE.
