Matt Riddle is known to be outspoken through interviews and social media, but in a recent interview with the Hindustan Times, the new SmackDown star wanted to address his previous comments.
Most notably, he has been outspoken about Goldberg and the issues that he has with the legendary pro wrestler in addition to saying that he wants to retire Brock Lesnar.
Riddle talked about how he doesn’t want to make anybody really mad or upset. He pointed out how people take things extremely personal and get offended pretty easily.
“When it comes to people that matter, people that are important, people that sign my checks, I haven’t upset any of them. They all like me and that’s what matters to me.”
Riddle continued by stating that he thinks some wrestlers might be jealous of him because he’s the new toy coming in, but he knows that it comes down to egos and money. Riddle understands that his job is to make people care about him and what he’s doing.
“Sometimes I am going to ruffle some feathers for real and I am gonna get people really mad for real. But I can tell you this, my employer does not mind. Some of the toys in the toy chest mind but that’s not my problem either.”
Riddle stated that if anyone has a problem with him or what he has said, they can come to him and they can settle it physically or have an intellectual conversation.
There have been rumors that Vince McMahon was not happy with Riddle’s social media comments. This is something that Riddle discussed.
“I think they take my demeanor and my mindset or how I look at things as disrespect. I think even Vince might have taken it as me being disrespectful,” Riddle revealed. “When I talked to Goldberg, I told him I wasn’t being disrespectful, I was just telling the truth and me being honest.”
Also, Riddle talked about how Lesnar misunderstood his comments while he believed that he hurt Goldberg’s ego. He also thinks he can change Lesnar and Goldberg’s minds. The reason he thinks he can change the minds of the two WWE stars by becoming a bigger star and be able to draw money.
