Matt Riddle opens up on his relationships with Triple H and Vince McMahon

Matt Riddle was able to work with Triple H in WWE NXT and now he’s working with Vince McMahon the main roster.

The former WWE NXT Tag Team Champion just made his SmackDown debut this past Friday night when he beat WWE United States Champion AJ Styles in a non-title match.

Riddle spoke about his relationships with the two WWE executives while speaking with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani for a new interview.

“Honestly, with Triple H, amazing. I don’t think we’re like family but he’s shown me videos of his kids imitating my entrance in their house during the quarantine. We jib-jab, we joke around. I think we both appreciate hard work in sports entertainment, we appreciate the business.”

Regarding McMahon, he admitted that he didn’t know him that well as he’s only had a couple of encounters with him. He did put McMahon over for being professional and how focused he is about his product in addition to his work ethic.

Riddle stated that McMahon knows what he wants and has already challenged him on somethings.

“I think a lot of people like you said, because of my background stuff, don’t challenge me. I feel like every time I’ve spoken with him or had conversations with him, he challenges me, or he corrects something, ‘Hey, you shouldn’t do that.’ It’s all good stuff, it’s all knowledgeable. I honestly like dealing with Vince.”

Riddle stated that it’s only been short term for now and that could change, but for now, he thinks McMahon is a cool guy. He understands that as long as he’s doing the right thing then he knows he can be successful.

Riddle also talked about moving from MMA to pro wrestling, his issues with Brock Lesnar and Goldberg. You can watch the entire interview by clicking on the player below:
