Matt Riddle says he never wanted a match with Goldberg

Matt Riddle has set the record straight on his beef with Goldberg.

The SmackDown star did so while speaking with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani for a new interview. Riddle has talked about Goldberg for years as Riddle has been extremely critical of the legendary pro wrestler.

They even exchanged some words while backstage at SummerSlam where Goldberg famously told Riddle that he wasn’t his bro.

It turns out that Riddle never wanted a match against Goldberg, but rather just wanted to share his thoughts about him. At the end of the day, Riddle wants a match with Brock Lesnar.

“I never wanted the Goldberg one, I don’t think…unless it was like a minute it might…I don’t think it’d be a great match. Brock’s really good that’s why I would love that match but Goldberg was just more..I’m just not a fan of his work. I just feel like you know he’s been pushed a lot and he’s been able to accomplish so much when I feel like there’s a lot of other people that are more deserving but that’s it.

That’s also pro wrestling some people just have to look or had and Goldberg had it. I can’t argue that the guy’s worth millions of dollars. He’s a superstar, he’s just not my cup of tea.”

Riddle also talked about moving from MMA to pro wrestling, Dana White’s comments after he was fired from UFC, and more. You can watch the entire interview by clicking on the player below:
