It turns out that lead WWE NXT announcer Mauro Ranallo will not be calling tonight’s episode of the black and yellow brand.
This news comes from a new report from John Pollock of POST Wrestling. Ranallo was supposed to call Survivor Series after he deleted his Twitter account after a pair of tweets sent out by WWE SmackDown announcer Corey Graves that was criticism.
On Monday, it was reported that Ranallo would be back to work on this week’s NXT episode and that things were alright between Mauro and WWE.
According to the report, the decision was made that he would not be returning to work this week despite the two sides being in discussions over the past few days. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on Ranallo’s status for the show next week.
Graves’ tweets were about how Ranallo didn’t allow fellow commentators Beth Phoenix or Nigel McGuinness to talk enough during the TakeOver: WarGames III broadcast.
WWE gave the reason that he missed Survivor Series because blew his voice out the night before.
This led to an exchange between Graves and Dave Meltzer over Meltzer’s reports about the situation, which you can see here.
