Maven Is “Perfectly Fine With Not Being A Wrestler Anymore”

Since launching his successful YouTube channel, former WWE Superstar Maven has experienced a shift in his career. In a recent interview, the Tough Enough winner revealed that he no longer sees himself as a professional wrestler and is “perfectly fine” with being recognized as a YouTube content creator.

Maven’s YouTube channel, where he shares behind-the-scenes stories from his wrestling career, has garnered a massive following and has given him a new platform to connect with fans. On the latest episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Maven shared a story about a recent fan interaction that highlighted this change in his public persona. He was recognized not for his past in-ring accomplishments, but for his current work on YouTube.

“No. In a grocery store a few months back, and normally somebody comes up to me [and says], ‘You’re that guy who won Tough Enough.’ Yeah. I had somebody come up to me and say, ‘You’re that guy that talks about wrestling and answers questions on YouTube, aren’t you?’ And I was like, I suppose I am.”

Maven stated that he is at peace with this new chapter of his life. He acknowledged that he can no longer perform at the level he once did and is happy to embrace his new role.

“But I’m fine with that. I’m okay with ageing. I’m okay with I just can’t do what I used to do, and I’m okay with advancing into just the next parts of my life. I’ve watched these guys now. They’re so much more athletic than I was, and obviously am now. Yeah, I’m perfectly fine with not being a wrestler anymore.”

While he has not ruled out an occasional in-ring return under the right circumstances, his primary focus is now on his YouTube channel. You can hear his full interview on the latest episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet.
