Max Dupri's future in WWE seems unclear after he was pulled from Friday Night SmackDown but there are more details coming out on why some people have soured on him.

As was noted earlier by PWTorch.com, Dupri was said to have rubbed some people the wrong way and he was replaced by the Maxxine Dupri character played by former NXT wrestler Sofia Cromwell.

Fightful Select reports that Dupri was unbooked at the last minute and while Mace and Mansoor were on board with the Maximum Male Models storyline, Durpri had some reservations about things and a couple of scripts were changed.

The Maximum Male Models storyline was something that Vince McMahon was fully behind because it was his idea and he had worked with Dupri on what to say and how he should sound during his promos. Additionally, McMahon did not want him to sound like his LA Knight character in NXT.

Dupri reportedly has some supporters in WWE and with McMahon gone, it's possible that he may get another opportunity to show what he can do on the main roster. It's worth noting that he's a Triple H hire so that may work in his favor.
