Mercedes Mone and Bayley recently celebrated the tenth anniversary of their iconic match from NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. During an Instagram Live session to commemorate the occasion, Mone issued a playful challenge to her longtime friend and rival.
Mercedes Mone Challenges Bayley To “One More Match”
Bayley joked that she “just wants one,” which prompted a direct challenge from the current AEW TBS Champion.
“I just want one, dude,” Bayley said. Mone quickly replied, “Come face me then, dude. Give the people what they want, one more match.” When Mone asked again what she thought about one more match, Bayley responded, “It depends what title is on the line. We’ll see.”
A Ten-Year Anniversary For A Classic Match
The friendly banter took place during a live stream celebrating their NXT Women’s Championship match from August 22, 2015. That bout is widely considered to be one of the most important matches in the history of women’s wrestling.
The two last shared a ring in a six-person tag team match on an episode of SmackDown in February 2021. A match happening now is not in the cards as they’re in separate promotions.
