WWE Hall Famer/RAW General Manager Mick Foley recently spoke with Mike Jones of DC 101 to promote Sunday’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada. “Survivor Series was the one big PPV that has struggled to remain relevant. All of a sudden, this year with this format, man, the 5 on 5 matches take on an entirely new meaning,” Foley said. Foley added that they are not just random teams thrown together but there this is a battle for domination. Foley said that fans don’t think that the rivalry between RAW and SmackDown Live is real then they don’t know Vince McMahon because it is real.
When asked about Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg, Foley brought up their first match, which was at WrestleMania 20 in 2004 when both guys were leaving WWE. Lesnar was going to the NFL and Goldberg’s contract expire. He added that they didn’t have the intensity that had been the hallmark of their careers. He believes they will make it up to the fans and bring too much intensity into the match.
When asked about saying that Vader should go into the WWE Hall of Fame, Foley said when Vader told him a few weeks before he announced on Twitter that he had two years left to live it devastated him. “I talked to the highest people in the highest places in WWE about it,” Foley said. He thinks that the news of Vader’s health makes WWE put him into the HOF sooner rather than later.
