WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has been a fan of Cesaro for years, but he also thinks Big E has a high ceiling and now is the right to capitalize on this moment.
It was revealed on Friday that Kofi Kingston suffered an injury while working a tag team tables match at Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view. As a result, he’ll be out of action for a few weeks. Thus with Kingston and Xavier Woods being sidelined to injury, Big E will have a chance at a singles run.
The WWE Hall of Famer recently released a video on his Twitter account to comment on the opportunity that Big E has in front of him. He first started talking about the potential Cesaro has before shifting to Big E.
He noted that he’s been thinking about the run that Big E is going to have. He also understands that WWE is in unprecedented times as ratings have been dropping. He thinks it’s time to make a bold statement with a couple of WWE stars.
Foley stated that being successful yet going to the next level is about having the ability and the willingness to shift gears in order to get out of your comfort zone.
The pro wrestling legend thinks while big E has been enjoyable, the WWE star has also been in a successful holding pattern for the last few years as New Day is one of the great acts in WWE history.
“I believe and I don’t want to overdo the racing metaphors, but if Big E can shift into high gear, and really put the foot down on the accelerator and remind people the work it took to look the way he does that you don’t get to be one of the most powerful men the sport has ever known through good humor alone, and charisma.
This is a guy who worked his butt off. I believe that he can show a different side of himself, a little bit more seriousness, a little bit more anger when the situation calls for it, that he would go down in history as one of the great WWE superstars. I hope that it happens. It’s all about stepping your foot on the accelerator and I believe he can do it.”
