Mick Foley to get hip replacement surgery

As previously noted, Mick Foley is taking the next two weeks off from WWE TV. Foley is scheduled to return on the January 2 edition of Monday Night Raw. Apparently, he was supposed to take off this past Monday but he stuck around to help give the rub to Sami Zayn. If he does return on January 2, then we would have to eventually take more time off for surgery and rehab.

Foley needs to get hip replacement surgery soon so, if he does return on January 2, then we would have to eventually take more time off for surgery and rehab.

Foley’s brutal style in the 1990’s helped to separate him from the pack and it helped turn him into one of the biggest stars of the Attitude era but those brutal bumps have caught up with him. At one point, there was talk that he would need back surgery to help alleviate his pain. I’m sure the weight loss has helped him but his hip issues have not gone away. Things were bad enough at one point that he had trouble getting out of a chair and walking for an extended length of time. Those of you that watched those Cactus Jack matches in the early 90’s know about the brutal punishment he put his hips through when he would do those diving elbows on guys like Sting and Vader with no protective mats at ringside.

We wish Mick well when he gets his surgery.
