Mike and Maria Kanellis not on the road for WWE and their planned network content has been pulled

There is a lot of smoke to the fire around the Mike and Maria Kanellis rumors that were first reported last week by Pro Wrestling Sheet. For those of you that missed it, Ryan Satin reported that the couple asked for the release a few weeks ago and it was denied. Maria later went on Instagram and denied that she asked for her release but a WWE source confirmed to us that the story is true. It was later confirmed by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Mike Johnson at PWInsider noted that they are not on the road with WWE this week. He said, “we are told they are not on the road for WWE this week and they were not scheduled to be on the road, which seems a little weird  because everybody is on the road every week.”

He also noted that a planned collection hosted by Mike and Maria will not be added to the network as originally planned. Johnson said, “they have removed the scheduled ‘Power of Love’ collection from the WWE Network which was to be hosted by Mike and Maria Kanellis in honor of the Valentine’s Day holiday. It’s not hard to connect the line from A to B here and see that there are some issues that hopefully will be resolved for the Kanellis’.”

The last we heard was that the couple wanted to go back with Ring Of Honor because they have friends that work there. We’ll see if WWE is willing to give them their release or if they end up stuck at home until their contracts expire. We’re told that they have quite a bit of time left on their WWE deals.
