Miro: WWE “really wanted to kill me completely” with erectile dysfunction angle

Aubrey Edwards and Tony Schiavone welcomed Miro (former WWE star Rusev) as their guest on this week’s “AEW Unrestricted” podcast.

Miro talks about being “The Best Man,” his AEW debut and his first promo, his childhood and being in high school sports, moving to the United States at age 19, what he was doing before he got into pro wrestling, thoughts on Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock being the best match of all-time, plans for his storyline with Lana, music, video games, John Cena, the League of Nations and much more.

Miro talking about his sex addiction angle in WWE: “That’s when I came out and they wanted CJ (Lana) to say I’m a sex addict, but the original pitch was that I would have erectile dysfunction. They really wanted to kill me completely because I don’t think in anybody’s eyes how the babyface has erectile dysfunction. There’s nothing wrong with people having erectile dysfunction. There are pills you can take. But that was not the case here and there is no coming back from it. There is absolutely no coming back from it. I told them this will bury me completely. You already have the man that took my wife, now I have erectile dysfunction and then I’m going to lose. I was supposed to lose anyway. I told them it’s a better idea to do the sex addict thing and they went for it. Thank God I didn’t have erectile dysfunction as a character.”
