MJF On AEW Ticket Prices: ‘Unlike WWE, You Don’t Have To Sell The Soul Of Your First Born To Buy A Ticket’

AEW World Champion MJF did not hold back his feelings regarding the city of El Paso, Texas, ahead of this week’s live episode of Dynamite. During an interview with kvia.com, the champion made it clear that his presence in the “Sun City” was strictly a business decision, noting that he required additional compensation to visit the area. He also took a shot at WWE.

“I’m coming with the AEW world title. You should all be thankful for that. They paid me extra to come this time. Let’s be honest, where you guys live is an absolute dump. You pay me the big bucks, so I’m coming. There is a possibility I might be wrestling on that show. Who’s to say? There might be a title defense in El Paso. I hate you people but, look, somebody has to pay daddy’s bills.

MJF claimed that AEW remains more affordable for the average fan, specifically targeting WWE’s pricing structure.

“Also, unlike WWE, you don’t have to sell the soul of your first born to buy a ticket. They are normal prices. You go to AEWtix.com or Ticketmaster.com. We don’t discriminate against poors the same way the world champion does.”

While MJF alluded to a “possibility” of wrestling, AEW has since confirmed that he will indeed defend his championship on the March 4 episode. The champion will face Kevin Knight. Knight, a member of the JetSpeed trio, provoked the champion by referring to him as a “crybaby ass b****,” leading Tony Khan to book the title match for the Don Haskins Center.

In addition to the MJF vs. Kevin Knight main event, the card features Thekla defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against the returning Thunder Rosa and the television debut of The IInspiration (Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee) against Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor. The show is also set to feature Jon Moxley in action against CMLL star Hechicero as the Death Riders’ war with the Don Callis Family continues to escalate.
